Print and cut template. Feel free to enlarge/reduce as required. Pin template to fabric.
Cut 8 baubles from the fabric.
With right sides together sew a 5mm [ ¼ in] seam allowance around the bauble, leaving a 2 ½ cm [1in] opening. Pull threads to one side. Knot to secure and trim any excess.
Pink the raw edges with pinking shears.
Turn bauble right side out.
Press bauble ensuring opening seam is tucked neatly inside. Repeat to create another 3 baubles with the other 6 pieces.
Lay 2 baubles on top of each other and machine sew them together down the centre. Pull threads to one side, knot to secure and then trim any excess. Repeat with the other 2 baubles. Set one aside for step 9. The other will be used in step 8.
Cut a 20 cm [8in] piece of cord. Fold in half and position ends on the centre seam [at the top of the bauble]. Sew in place to secure both ends. Trim any excess. Optional – cut a 15 cm [6in] piece, thread beads onto cord and sew opposite end of the cord on centre seam [bottom of bauble]. Trim any excess.
Fold in half and hand sew the 2 pieces down the centre seam to create your 3-dimensional bauble.
